Mark Levinson 38S Stereo Preamplifier Picture(s) and Description:

  The Mark Levinson 38S is a great sounding preamp and is built to extremely high standards.  The S model designation is the upgraded version with a teflon circuit board.  This unit is in excellent condition, except for a couple of minor scuffs on the top plate (see photos).  Original U.S. retail price is $6,495.   I bought this from the original owner, who was an enginer for Mark Levinson Audio Systems.  This was his personal unit in his home system.  In fact, he was the lead designer of it.  I bought his whole system (divorce sale) and am keeping some pieces and selling those that I don’t need.  He had it mated with a Levinson amp and Quad ESL-57 speakers.  The sound is detailed and transparent. The imaging is outstanding. No box, remote, or manual.  Line stage only (i.e., no phono card).  Estimated shipping weight is 28 pounds.
